Allan, Laurent Brossoit and a 2028 seventh-round draft pick were traded to the Sharks from the Blackhawks on Thursday in exchange for Ryan Ellis, Jake Furlong and a 2028 fourth-round pick, Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

The big defenseman does not bring a ton of offense to the table, but he knows how to break up opponents' rushes and can kill penalties. He can make a decent first pass but does not have a lot of creativity. His skating is good enough to play at the NHL level, though he is not especially quick.
