Skowronek (shoulder) was signed to the Steelers' 53-man roster, then placed on injured reserve Wednesday.
The Steelers elevated Skowronek from their practice squad Saturday ahead of the team's Week 2 matchup versus Denver.
The huge wide receiver might be better suited as a pass-catching tight end because he lacks the ideal speed to play outside in the NFL. He plays with passion, has good hands and competes hard on 50/50 balls, but he struggles to get separation against quality cornerbacks. His size and work ethic help make him a good blocker. Is quite useful in the red zone, where his size can create mismatches.
Long Range Potential: Big depth wide receiver.
