The Commanders elevated Gonzalez from their practice squad to their active roster Saturday.
Scouting Report
One of the most accomplished kickers to emerge from the college ranks, he reset Division I standards for career field goals, attempts and points while improving distance and accuracy in each successive year. Draws on impressive lower-body strength to routinely pound it through the end zone to limit returns. Is close to automatic on short and medium distance field-goal attempts. Radically improved his success rate from beyond 50 yards as a senior. His ‘clutch quotient’ at the pro level remains to be proven.
Long Range Potential: Talented but inconsistent kicker.
