The Rangers transferred Seager (hernia) to the 60-day injured list Friday.

Seager was diagnosed with a sports hernia and will have season-ending surgery Friday, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
Scouting Report
Is an outstanding hitter for average, plus he has great power for an infielder and a huge frame. A great athlete, he also displays plenty of positional versatility. May outgrow the shortstop position, eventually. Also needs to cut down on his number of strikeouts a little, which should come with more MLB experience.
Long Range Potential: Talented shortstop.
