Steel's (hip) timeline for a return to the lineup has yet to be determined, but he is not expected to suit up in the short term, Owen Newkirk of DLLS Sports reports Tuesday.

Scouting Report

The first-round pick in the 2016 NHL Draft is still trying to find his niche in the big league. He skates well but has yet to come close to replicating the offensive numbers he put up in junior hockey and the AHL, and risks being recast into a lower role as a checker or energy player if that does not change soon. Consistency continues to be a major issue as he heads into the prime of his career.
