Slavin signed a two-year, two-way contract with Carolina on Sunday.
Scouting Report
The younger brother of defenseman Jaccob Slavin was a seventh-round pick in the 2018 draft and has earned his way into the NHL by being a hard-working forward who is counted on to be physical and win puck battles. His skating has improved but is still a work in progress and could limit his development. Coaches love his work ethic, and he has enough offensive skills to contribute when his team has the puck.
Long Range Potential: Gritty, defense-first forward.
