Went from an offense-first forward at lower levels to one whose biggest contributions came as a checker and penalty killer. Had the size NHL coaches loved, particularly in a shutdown role. Was big enough to win his share of puck battles and had enough offensive skill that opponents could not ignore him when his team had the puck.
