Wood was activated from injured reserve Sunday.
Wood (upper body) will join the Avs on their upcoming three-game road trip and is expected to play at some point, Meghan Angley of Guerilla Sports reports Thursday.
The son of former NHL forward Randy Wood has the same kind of speed that his father showed during his 11 seasons in the league. His kin also has good two-way instincts and hockey sense, but it is his speed that can back off opponents and create breakaways. That is his biggest attribute. Plays best in a faster, less-structured system, though he is not a great finisher and still has to improve his play away from the puck. Injuries have been a problem for him, partly because of his somewhat reckless playing style.
Long Range Potential: Speedy power forward (when healthy).
