The big center was one of the National Hockey League's most creative playmakers, though at times he fell in love with setting up teammates and forgot he had an excellent shot as well. Needed linemates who could turn his passes into goals in order to be successful. Consistency was an issue for him for much of his career. He was an adequate penalty killer but most of his value came when his team had the puck. Injuries cut his NHL career short.
