Fast underwent surgery to repair his injured neck Aug. 6 and will miss the entirety of the 2024-25 campaign.
Fast (neck) is still wearing a neck brace Saturday while he continues to undergo tests to determine the severity of the injury, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.
Knows where to be on the ice and has the wheels to get there. Has excellent hockey sense and good speed (one of his nicknames is "Quicky"). Is very responsible defensively and an excellent penalty killer. However, he is not very big and has never been much of an offensive force at the NHL level, although he is a good defensive conscience on a line with attack-oriented teammates.
Long Range Potential: Solid checking forward and penalty killer.
