One of the NHL's few remaining fighters, he is also a heavy-hitting winger who makes opponents keep their heads up when he is on the ice. He is a team-first player who will step up to defend anyone wearing the same uniform he wears. Shoots the puck well, has a bit of offensive ability and can kill penalties, too. He always has to make sure he stays on the right side of the line between playing physically and spending too much time in the penalty box.
