Scouting Report
A classic late bloomer, he turned into an ideal No. 1/1A or backup goaltender in his 30s; his ideal workload was about 35-40 games per season at the NHL level. The native of Germany never appeared rattled in the crease. Took up a lot of net and held his post well on jam shots. Was above average defending against breakaways and possessed one of the NHL's highest career save percentages in shootouts. Was also a terrific teammate and an ideal partner for a younger netminder.
Long Range Potential: Solid tandem or excellent backup goaltender.
