Brought his lunch pail to work every day. Could line up at all three forward positions and displayed a consistently feisty attitude on the ice. Could even drop the gloves if it warranted. Did not have a lot of offensive ability, and he was only an average skater. Was prone to taking bad penalties that hurt his team. Injuries were a factor (a blood clot ended his career).
