He was a very smart and hard-working technician on the O-line. He could line up at guard or center, and did a nice job of reading plays and blocking solidly for both the pass and the run. He additionally played with good balance and reaction time, rarely getting bull-rushed or knocked down. His below-average muscle mass and athleticism led to obvious issues against explosive defenders. In fact, too often he was forced into penalties when trying to get an edge to compensate.
