Carolina placed Thomas (calf) on its injured reserve list Monday, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.
Thomas is questionable to return to Sunday's Week 10 game against the Giants due to a calf injury, David Newton of ESPN.com reports.
Can be very tough to stop in short-range jump ball situations. Has a knack for getting open one-on-one. He's a good blocker who can really tie up defenders. Brings the overall size NFL teams look for at tight end. Benefits from big hands, which help him as both a blocker and as a receiving target. Nimble and agile. Shows excellent quickness and explosiveness in his movements. While productive as a receiver in spurts, he needs to prove he can be a consistent reception target.
Long Range Potential: Talented tight end with starter tools.
