Hield chipped in 22 points (8-11 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three rebounds, two assists and one steal in 26 minutes during Friday's 132-108 victory over Sacramento.
Hield finished second behind Tyler Herro in the NBA 3-Point Contest after scoring 23 points in the final round.
Fearless as a perimeter shooter. Hard to defend on the arc: employs a super-quick release to get his shot off in tight spaces, and has good length to shoot over defenders. Gets nice arc and touch on his jumper. Also very solid handling the ball, and hustles on defense. Near-automatic on free throws, and brings clutch ability as a scorer. A bit undersized for an NBA shooting guard and doesn't make up for it with explosive leaping ability or top-tier game speed. While hard-working on defense he doesn't get the most from his good wingspan, and isn't a one-on-one stopper or major steals threat. Also not a big distributor when overplayed.
Long Range Potential: Sweet-shooting perimeter scorer with some star potential.
