Edman is starting at second base and batting second Tuesday against the Mariners.
Dodgers general manager Brandon Gomes said Monday that the team plans for Edman to be its center fielder next season, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
Has tremendous baseball instincts--at the plate, in the field and on base. A switch-hitter, he is a patient batter with a smooth, line-drive swing. Can steal plenty of bases and is a great base runner, overall. Can play several different positions with aplomb, thanks to his instincts and overall baseball knowledge. Does not have great home-run power, so he profiles as more of a table setter at the highest level. Provides MLB teams with great options because of his versatility.
Long Range Potential: Versatile, speedy switch-hitter with some upside.
