Rays manager Kevin Cash said Tuesday that Springs (elbow) is feeling better but will not return this season, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The Rays placed Springs on the 15-day injured list Sunday, retroactive to Sept. 5, due to left elbow fatigue.
Scouting Report
Owns a reasonably projectable frame (6'3") and the ability to strike plenty of batters out in the minor leagues, so he can be used in the late innings with confidence. Needs to add more bulk to his lanky frame in order to develop better stamina for Major League Baseball. Must also curb his propensity to walk too many hitters.
Long Range Potential: Situational left-hander.
