The Rangers signed Festa to a minor-league contract Wednesday that includes an invitation to spring training, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
The Rangers selected Festa's contract from Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday.
A reliever through and through with an outstanding fastball, he also features great deception thanks to his three-quarters delivery. His slider can also be an out-pitch for him. Is very aggressive on the bump. Could stand to further develop his third-best pitch (a cutter), though he may not even need it as a short reliever. Needs to add more bulk to his lanky frame in order to maximize his stamina in the big leagues.
