Santana lost his arbitration hearing against the Pirates on Saturday and will make $1.4 million in 2025, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.
Santana (arm) struck out two over two scoreless innings of relief in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Mets. He gave up two hits and no walks.
His bread-and-butter pitch is a sinker that has exceptional movement (and above-average velocity). Also boasts an excellent slider and very strong changeup. Creates deception thanks to his funky, three-quarters delivery. Needs to improve his command of all of his offerings, as well as learn how to repeat his somewhat complicated delivery, in order to maximize output in Major League Baseball. Could also use more strength & stamina.
Long Range Potential: Talented, deceptive right-hander with good upside.
