The Cubs transferred Merryweather (knee) to the 60-day injured list Sunday.
Scouting Report
Displays an excellent fastball that can often reach the upper-90's. Has worked hard to become a more consistent hurler. Owns an ideal pitchers' frame (6'4", 215 pounds). In order to remain a starting pitcher for MLB, he will need to improve both his changeup and breaking pitches. Otherwise, he could become a reliever at the highest level.
Long Range Potential: Hard-throwing right-hander.
