White Sox manager Will Venable said Wednesday that Slater (oblique) is expected to be sidelined 2-to-3 weeks, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
Slater was scratched from the lineup for Monday's Cactus League game against the Athletics due to a left oblique strain.
Has good size, so he projects to become a fairly solid home-run hitter (especially in the minor leagues). Can also hit for average. His walks rate is also a strength of his for the big leagues. Is not much of a base-stealing threat, so he needs to start showing greater power at all levels in order to maximize playing time in Major League Baseball. Is not an elite athlete, either.
Long Range Potential: Backup outfielder.
