The Guardians placed Hentges (shoulder) on the 60-day injured list Sunday.
Hentges (shoulder) agreed to a one-year, $1.337 million contract with the Guardians on Friday to avoid arbitration, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.
A huge physical specimen (6-6, 245 pounds), he owns an impressive fastball and plenty of mound intimidation qualities. Also shows promise with his secondary pitches: curve, cutter and changeup. Is a little too dependent on his fastball at lower levels, so he must continue to develop his other three pitches to maximize output as a starting pitcher in Major League Baseball. His control is also suspect.
Long Range Potential: Mammoth, talented left-hander with upside.
