Perez signed a minor-league contract with the Cubs on Tuesday.
Scouting Report
Is a good receiver with sound defensive instincts and a strong throwing arm from behind the dish. Offensively, he can be a solid contact hitter who also draws walks. His swing has a tendency to get a bit too long when he starts looking for the home run, leading to too many strikeouts. The jury is still out on his bat in MLB.
Long Range Potential: Depth catcher.
