Had an ideal pitchers' frame and a quality arm. Could dominate left-handed batters and strike plenty of hitters out with his hard stuff. Could be hurt by walks when he was slightly off. Lacked consistency in terms of his command. Also, he had a tendency to surrender a few too many long balls.
