BRAD BOYES FOR DENNIS WIDEMAN

The St. Louis Blues acquired forward Brad Boyes from the Boston Bruins for defenseman Dennis Wideman.

What does it give the St. Louis Blues
One year after finishing third in rookie scoring behind only Alexander Ovechkin and Sidney Crosby, Brad Boyes played his way out of Boston with a horrible sophomore campaign. However, he's still young and the Blues hope he can reestablish himself as a second-line pivot. Given their lack of talent up on the wing, that could be a tall order for Boyes, who heads to his fourth NHL team.

What does it give the Boston Bruins
Having dealt Paul Mara away, the Bruins went shopping for a skilled defenseman and landed Dennis Wideman. He was averaging 20:12 per-game in St. Louis but is considered more of a power-play specialist.
