BROOKBANK TO PITTSBURGH

The Pittsburgh Penguins acquired enforcer Wade Brookbank from the Boston Bruins for future considerations.

What does it give the Pittsburgh Penguins
Brookbank adds more toughness to the Penguins organization, though he may not get in the lineup often when/if he is recalled from the AHL. He can play both defense and wing, but is a limited player with the gloves on.

What does it give the Boston Bruins
Chances are, the Bruins won't get much in return for a one-dimensional player with little upside. They couldn't find much room for Brookbank in their lineup, so they decided to let him go. Since Brookbank had been toiling in the minors since early November, Boston will continue to play without a true enforcer.
