COYOTES DEAL FOR WOLSKI

The Phoenix Coyotes acquired forward Wojtek Wolski from the Colorado Avalanche for forwards Peter Mueller and Kevin Porter.

What does it give the Phoenix Coyotes
Wolski is the better NHL player at present time, so the Coyotes did well to add him to the lineup. He can play both left wing and center, but the Coyotes probably need him more on the wing due to the absence of injured winger Scottie Upshall. If he can find a level of consistency in Phoenix that's been absent so far, Wolski could explode offensively.

What does it give the Colorado Avalanche
The Avs grew tired of waiting for Wolski, so they at least received two solid assets in return. Mueller is even more enigmatic than Wolski, but has just as much offensive upside. Mueller, like Wolski, can play both center or wing. Porter is just as versatile, if not moreso, than either Wolski or Mueller, but he has yet to find his NHL niche. With the recent injury to Brandon Yip, Colorado should use both Mueller and Porter at the NHL level right away.
