BOLTS DEAL GOTOVETS FOR PARADIS

The Tampa Bay Lightning acquired forward Philippe Paradis from the Chicago Blackhawks for defenseman Kirill Gotovets.

What does it give the Tampa Bay Lightning
Paradis is mainly an AHL player. He has some versatility, some grit and some agitating qualities to his game. With several players called up to the Lightning this season, Paradis should be a welcomed addition to AHL Syracuse. As for his NHL aspirations, he may get a few cups of coffee next season but probably nothing more.

What does it give the Chicago Blackhawks
Chicago probably did this deal to alleviate an NHL contract from their books, possibly setting up another deal. Gotovets is a puck-moving defenseman who plays a defensive defenseman's game. He doesn't wow anyone with his ability but does have the mobility NHL teams look for these days. He'll remain in the college ranks.

Fantasy impact
Neither Paradis nor Gotovets will have a lot of fantasy value if/when they arrive in the NHL. Therefore, this trade was not made with the average NHL fantasy leaguer in mind.
