TOMASINO FOR ZAMULA
The Philadelphia Flyers acquired winger Philip Tomasino from the Pittsburgh Penguins for defenseman Egor Zamula.
What does it give the Philadelphia Flyers
This is a classic change-of-scenery trade, as both Tomasino and Zamula are currently toiling in the AHL and in need of a fresh start. The Flyers had a surplus on defense so the hope is that Tomasino can rediscover his offensive touch with Philly.
What does it give the Pittsburgh Penguins
For the Penguins, getting Zamula makes sense because left defense is a position of need for the organization. Zamula, who can play on both sides, has some offensive ability and some size. For now, the big Russian will likely remain in the AHL.
Fantasy impact
Both Tomasino and Zamula began 2025-26 in the NHL, both cleared waivers and were assigned to the AHL. So, neither player should be on the fantasy radar at present time. Keep an eye on both in case they get recalled with their new teams.
