MADDEN FOR CECCONI
The Minnesota Wild acquired forward Tyler Madden from the Los Angeles Kings for defenseman Joseph Cecconi.
What does it give the Minnesota Wild
Madden will provide Minnesota with forward depth in the minors. The 25-year-old has been a useful scorer in the AHL the past few seasons. With several Wild forwards injured, Madden may now have a better chance at earning his first NHL call-up. But he will enter the AHL lineup for now.
What does it give the Los Angeles Kings
The Kings were in need of reinforcements on defense in the minors, and Cecconi will give them just that. He is an AHL veteran who should step into a shutdown role with the Reign. He also helps with some of the defensive depth lost when Andreas Englund was claimed off waivers by Nashville.
