SAMMY WALKER SENT TO UTAH
The Utah Hockey Club acquired forward Sammy Walker from the Minnesota Wild for future considerations.
What does it give the Utah Hockey Club
Walker will give Utah some extra forward depth in the minors. The 25-year-old appeared in 13 NHL games the past few seasons, registering one goal and one assist. Though Walker had been productive in recent AHL seasons, his offense there declined this year. Utah will give him a fresh start, but he will need to turn it around to earn another look in the NHL.
What does it give the Minnesota Wild
Walker signed with the Wild in 2022, but he was unable to earn a consistent job in the National Hockey League. Minnesota will only get future considerations in return, which is partly due to Walker's down year in the minor leagues. The Wild are clearing roster space by removing a contract from the books. They will likely be active before the trading deadline.
