The Nashville Predators acquired defenseman Andrew Gibson from the Detroit Red Wings for winger Jesse Kiiskinen and a second-round draft pick in 2024 (No. 53 overall).
What does it give the Nashville Predators
Gibson is a solid blueline prospect who might have a better opportunity to blossom with the Preds organization. Nashville gave up a decent amount to acquire him, so they obviously like him quite a bit.
What does it give the Detroit Red Wings
Kiiskinen is probably a longer-range prospect than Gibson is, but the Red Wings did well to land both him and the 53rd overall selection in this year's draft. Do not expect Detroit to be done; they are just getting started.
Fantasy impact
Gibson is a decent keeper option in many leagues this year, while Kiiskinen is probably not even on the fantasy radar (yet).
