SHARKS LAND EAGER
The San Jose Sharks acquired winger Ben Eager from the Atlanta Thrashers for a fifth-round draft pick in 2011.
What does it give the San Jose Sharks
The Sharks could use more grit, attitude and feistiness in their lineup. He can also drop the gloves, which he may be asked to do more of as San Jose's primary enforcer. He'll probably settle onto a line with Scott Nichol and Jamal Mayers--eventually.
What does it give the Atlanta Thrashers
The Thrashers have been blown away by the play of veteran enforcer Eric Boulton this season. Furthermore, Chris Thorburn has also proven to be invaluable to coach Craig Ramsay. Therefore, it was obvious that Eager had become the odd man out. So GM Rick Dudley moved him out.
