Kolarik has proven capable of putting up good numbers in the AHL, which is where he'll likely remain for the foreseeable future. He does provide added depth scoring for the Rangers.

Byers brings more grit and physicality to the Jackets system. He was stuck in the Rangers system, but could get more opportunities at the NHL level with the Blue Jackets.
