TIM KENNEDY FOR SEAN SULLIVAN

The San Jose Sharks acquired forward Tim Kennedy from the Florida Panthers for defenseman Sean Sullivan.

What does it give the San Jose Sharks
Kennedy is a solid depth forward who can play both center and wing. He has a fair amount of NHL experience, so the Sharks won't hesitate to use him if they continue to experience injury issues up front. Sullivan was deemed expendable, since San Jose already boasts plenty of offense from the back end.

What does it give the Florida Panthers
The Panthers needed some help in terms of defensive depth, since they've recently lost the services of both Ed Jovanovski and Dmitry Kulikov to long-term injuries. Sullivan doesn't have any NHL experience but don't be surprised if he is recalled by Florida at some point this season.
