HORDICHUK FOR PETERS
The Florida Panthers acquired winger Darcy Hordichuk from the Vancouver Canucks for winger Andrew Peters.
What does it give the Florida Panthers
This is a trade of fighters. In Hordichuk, the Panthers get a more versatile enforcer...someone who can play a little more than Peters. However, since Peters had already been sent down, Hordichuk's immediate future is uncertain.
What does it give the Vancouver Canucks
Peters could start the season in the AHL, but he'll be brought up if the Canucks feel the need for a legitimate heavyweight enforcer. He's more of a part-time player, so perhaps he won't be as upset when he doesn't play often. Hordichuk was on occasion.
