DOMINGUE DEALT TO VANCOUVER

The Vancouver Canucks acquired goaltender Louis Domingue from the New Jersey Devils for goaltender Zane McIntyre.

What does it give the Vancouver Canucks
In Domingue, the Canucks get a depth goaltender upgrade over McIntyre (mostly due to Domingue's superior National Hockey League experience). At this point, Domingue seems like a better third-string netminder option over prospect Michael DiPietro.

What does it give the New Jersey Devils
Domingue struggled as the Devils backup this season, so it is no surprise that he was shipped out here. McIntyre turns 28 in August, but there may still be time for him to become a backup netminder at the NHL level. He could get that opportunity in New Jersey.

Fantasy impact
There is no fantasy impact here, as Domingue will at best be considered Vancouver's No. 3 goalkeeper down the stretch. McIntyre is more of a dark horse in case New Jersey does not upgrade the crease position this summer.
