The prototype of a defensive defenseman who has the size and strength to play solid shutdown hockey. Can play a physical game in his own zone and does his best to keep the slot clear for his goaltender. Is at his best in a role that accents his strengths in his own zone, and does not require him to make the kind of offensive moves he is not suited for.
