The Philadelphia Eagles acquired quarterback Andy Dalton from the Carolina Panthers for a seventh-round draft pick in 2027.
What does it give the Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles have a very capable backup quarterback for starter Jalen Hurts already in the form of Tanner McKee. So, adding veteran Dalton to the fold adds incredible depth–but also raises a few questions. Is McKee on the outs?
What does it give the Carolina Panthers
The Panthers are now committed to Bryce Young as their starting quarterback. However, they also added Kenny Pickett as a free agent this off-season. So Dalton became expendable. Carolina did well to get a draft pick in return.
Fantasy impact
Perhaps if Hurts get, er, hurt this season, Dalton may become a fantasy factor. However, Dalton will not be unless/until McKee is moved out.
