C.J. HENDERSON HEADS TO CAROLINA
The Carolina Panthers acquired cornerback C.J. Henderson from the Jacksonville Jaguars for tight end Dan Arnold and a third-round draft pick in 2022.
What does it give the Carolina Panthers
The Panthers needed help at cornerback after losing rookie Jaycee Horn to a broken foot over the weekend, so they reacted quickly and added Henderson to the mix. Look for Henderson and another former Jag, A. J. Bouye (returning from suspension), to both play a lot opposite Donte Jackson.
What does it give the Jacksonville Jaguars
For the winless Jaguars, Arnold should help replace the injured James O'Shaughnessy as a pass-catching tight end for rookie QB Trevor Lawrence. The draft pick will also help for a team that does not appear close to contending in the AFC South. Henderson was being phased out anyway.
Fantasy impact
Henderson should see more action in Carolina, so he becomes a player to place on the IDP radar moving forward (he does not need to be picked up right away, though). Arnold could become a fantasy tight end option for the struggling Jags, but wait and see how he is used by coach Urban Meyer before committing to picking him up.
