DOUGLAS-ROBERTS HEADS TO THE BUCKS

The Milwaukee Bucks acquired guard Chris Douglas-Roberts from the New Jersey Nets for a second-round draft pick in 2012.

What does it give the Milwaukee Bucks
The Bucks have some question marks at shooting guard (due to Michael Redd's seemingly constant injuries and the fact John Salmons appears likely to opt out of his contract) so Douglas-Roberts is a solid depth addition. He is set for restricted free agency and isn't likely to start for Milwaukee (since they still have Redd and Carlos Delfino around, as well as impressive rookie Darington Hobson) but Douglas-Roberts could do a nice job backing up both swing positions for the Bucks if he re-signs.

What does it give the New Jersey Nets
Douglas-Roberts became somewhat frustrating for the Nets last season, playing like a star at times and then disappearing others. The team is in rebuilding mode and faced the prospect of giving him a substantial pay raise as an impending free agent, so cut ties with him here. The emergence of Terrence Williams and Courtney Lee pretty much guaranteed Douglas-Roberts wouldn't have been a starter in 2009-10, and the draft-day acquisition of Damion James replaces him as a backup.
