JACKSON HEADS TO CAVS

The Cleveland Cavaliers acquired forward Darnell Jackson from the Miami Heat for a second-round draft pick in 2009.

What does it give the Cleveland Cavaliers
There is still a lot of speculation in Cleveland about their power forward spot. Big Ben Wallace has been a disappointment and looks over the hill, and Anderson Varejao has been the topic of constant trade rumors. Jackson is still pretty raw but plays a game like Varejao's (only he's a bit smaller). This is obviously an insurance/depth addition for the Cavs, as they figure out their power foward puzzle.

What does it give the Miami Heat
One place where the Heat already have a lot of promising players is at power forward, so Jackson was obviously expendable. Michael Beasley, Shawn Marion, Udonis Haslem, Joel Anthony, and others are already there, and since Jackson was a late second-rounder (No.52 overall) the Heat may be able to get an earlier selection next year with their newly-acquired pick.
