WIZ GETS DUDLEY FROM BUCKS, REPLACING PIERCE

The Washington Wizards acquired swingman Jared Dudley from the Milwaukee Bucks for a future 2nd-round draft pick.

What does it give the Washington Wizards
The loss of veteran small forward Paul Pierce (to free agency) opened the door for Dudley to arrive as his replacement. Dudley doesn't provide the same clutch star scoring ability, but like Pierce he is a quality veteran leader and mentor type who can play several positions solidly.

What does it give the Milwaukee Bucks
Dudley recently exercised his player option for next season (for $4.25 million), and the Bucks need salary cap space (since they're in the midst of making some big moves this off-season). They'll miss Dudley's veteran leadership, but the recent addition of point guard Greivis Vasquez (from the Raptors) should help replace it.

Fantasy impact
Dudley's fantasy value should stay almost identical with the Wizards as it was with the Bucks (in that it wasn't notable, except for some occasional pick-up/fill-in appeal when he got on a hot streak). That said, if Dudley pushes for the starting small forward gig in Washington, it might be wise to lower expectations of an Otto Porter breakout in the coming Wizards campaign. On the Bucks side of the equation, little changes fantasy-wise.
