NUGGETS NAB PROSPECT WHITE FOR HERVELLE

The Denver Nuggets acquired guard James White from the Houston Rockets for the draft rights to guard Axel Hervelle.

What does it give the Denver Nuggets
Denver tends to covet players with great athleticism, and while Hervelle fits that description, White is a jaw-dropping leaper with excellent quickness and explosiveness. Hervelle is still playing for Real Madrid in Europe, so the Nuggets also get a more NBA-ready player here in White who may see some minutes early on due to the seven-game suspension to J.R. Smith.

What does it give the Houston Rockets
The Rockets are, as usually, deep at the guard spots so White was expendable. Houston also does a nice job scouting the European hoops scene, and clearly like something in Hervelle for the future. He was the first Belgian player drafted by an NBA team (back in 2005, when Denver selected him No.52 overall).
