FOUR-TEAM TRADE

In a 4-team deal: the Orlando Magic traded Hedo Turkoglu to the Toronto Raptors. Toronto traded Shawn Marion, Kris Humphries, Nathan Jawai, cash considerations to the Dallas Mavericks, a 2nd-round draft pick to the Memphis Grizzlies and cash considerations to Orlando. Dallas traded Jerry Stackhouse, cash considerations to Memphis, Devean George and Antonie Wright to Toronto and cash considerations to Orlando. Memphis traded Greg Buckner to Dallas.

What does it give the Toronto Raptors
Along with this deal letting the Raptors pay Turkoglu a star-level salary (since it's a sign-and-trade), it achieves two other key objectives: bringing in a solid shooting guard (in Wright) to potentially start for them while talented rookie DeMar DeRozan gets used to the NBA, and freeing up some financial flexibility for more moves. If they keep George, he is a solid veteran depth forward. But the key is Turkoglu, a real coup for the Raptors, who are suddenly looking like contenders in the East.

What does it give the Dallas Mavericks
Marion is the star-caliber rebounder and defender the Mavs have long needed to complement Dirk Nowitzki in their frontcourt. Humphries and Jawai are both underrated big-men who will bring needed depth in the post (and Jawai has the potential to become their starting center a few years down the road if he bounces back from last season). Buckner is expected to be bought out.

What does it give the Orlando Magic
The Magic don't get any players in this deal but they do get some key assets in helping the Raptors sign Turkoglu: cash considerations, plus a trade exception they can use in future to add another player (estimated in value at up to $9 Million).

What does it give the Memphis Grizzlies
The Grizz have already waived Stackhouse (a move made easier by the cash they got from the Mavs in this deal). They also get the future second-rounder from Toronto in the bargain, and get Buckner's contract off the books.
