CAVS LAND PAVLOVIC

The Cleveland Cavaliers acquired forward Aleksandar Pavlovic from the Charlotte Bobcats for a future first-round draft pick.

What does it give the Cleveland Cavaliers
A young talent who just might surprise some people. Pavlovic very quietly had a nice little rookie season for the Jazz in '03-04, but he didn't seem to fit into their massive rebuilding project. That's a little surprising, since he's only 20 years old and has good offensive upside. Cleveland likely sees Pavlovic as a possible future Peja Stojakovic, and he may actually come close if given an opportunity in Cav-land.

What does it give the Charlotte Hornets
A very nice draft pick to keep them growing in the future. Already the Bobs have established they aren't big on players who can't play defense, and that's Pavlovic's biggest challenge. It was a smart move to grab a guy they knew other teams would like and parlay him immediately into something they want.
