RAPS & BUCKS SWAP FOUR IN DELFINO TRADE

The Milwaukee Bucks acquired guard-forward Carlos Delfino and guard Roko Ukic from the Toronto Raptors for forward Amir Johnson and guard-forward Sonny Weems.

What does it give the Milwaukee Bucks
With the off-season trade of star small forward Richard Jefferson, the Bucks don't have a clear-cut replacement to step into the 3-spot. Delfino (who played last season in Russia) has the talent to be that guy, and should compete with returnee Ersan Ilyasova and athletic second-year Joe Alexander for minutes at small forward. Ukic is a high-upside point guard with the goods to possibly be a starter eventually, and brings good depth to a team that looks likely to lose the talented Ramon Sessions to free agency this off-season.

What does it give the Toronto Raptors
The Raptors were trying to re-sign restricted free agent Delfino, but couldn't come to terms with him and eventually traded for promising 2-guard Marco Belinelli. Ukic is a solid prospect but Toronto is trying to win now, and he was made expendable by the signing of veteran backup Jarrett Jack. Johnson could be a steal, as he has the goods to be a starting center. His contract expires after this season, so he's a nice one-year gamble for the overhauled Raps. Meanwhile Weems is the type of explosive athlete the up-tempo Raptors love, but he is pretty raw and will need time to develop into a regular rotation player.
