The Denver Nuggets acquired the rights to forward Chukwudiebere Maduabum from the Los Angeles Lakers for a future second-round draft pick.
What does it give the Denver Nuggets
Giving up a future second-rounder isn't a big cost for a player the Nuggets clearly like, so it's hard to find much wrong with this selection. The shot-blocking Maduabum played in the NBA D-League last season so may be able to push for a roster spot soon in Denver.
What does it give the Los Angeles Lakers
With four second-round picks the Lakers obviously were unlikely to keep them all, and Maduabum wasn't a highly-rated prospect on a lot of boards. The pick the Lakers are getting here will likely be higher than than the No. 56 they used here on Maduabum, so they do nicely all-round here.
