GRIZZ ADD RESERVE CENTER

The Memphis Grizzlies acquired center Chris Mihm from the Los Angeles Lakers for a 2013 conditional second-round draft pick.

What does it give the Memphis Grizzlies
In Mihm the Grizz get a player with an expiring deal, so when his $2.5 Million deal comes off the books at the end of this season, it will open up more cap space for the young and still-building club. They already have promising young pivots in Marc Gasol, Darko Milicic, and Hamed Haddadi, so Mihm doesn't appear to be a long-term add.

What does it give the Los Angeles Lakers
Mihm was barely playing for the Lakers this season since getting past an ankle problem, so the Lakers save a little salary in the short term (and they save money in luxury tax) by dropping his contract, and they also open up a roster spot which would allow them to add another player for their playoff push. The pick appears to be just added incentive for them.
